TX-Wind TLP Type Floating Wind Platform
TX-Wind platform is a TLP type floating foundation developed for a deep water application.
•
X-shape hull to accommodate the variation of buoyancy due to a high water level
change and to reduce yaw motions effectively at a very deep water
•
Vertically moored to support a small to large turbine
•
The TX-Wind design with a 6MW turbine was confirmed for a Hawaiian offshore site
at 1,000 m water depth
•
Implemented an innovative low-cost tendon connector
•
Results presented in an international conference
