Y-Wind Platform with Advanced Motion Attenuation Structures for Small to Medium Sized Wind Turbines

Engineered for Versatile Application

The Y-Wind platform is an adaptable foundation engineered for both Semi-Submersible and Tension Leg Platform (TLP) configurations. Built on a foundation of decades of offshore expertise and rigorous life-cycle cost analysis, Y-Wind directly addresses the industry's most critical stability and economic challenges.

Key Design Features

The Y-Wind foundation is engineered from the ground up to maximize efficiency and minimize deployment barriers: Superior Dynamic Performance: Integrated Motion Attenuating Structures (MAS) significantly reduce platform movement, enhancing turbine uptime and structural longevity. Cost-Efficient Fabrication: The streamlined, braceless structural system minimizes complexity and lowers manufacturing costs. Operational Flexibility: Designed for shallow quayside drafts, allowing for assembly and deployment in diverse port environments. Simplified Logistics: The platform is fully wet-towable, enabling easy transport from the quayside to the offshore site. Regulatory Excellence: Fully compliant with ABS, API, and international offshore standards.

Innovations

Our proprietary technology portfolio includes: Advanced Motion Attenuation: Specialized structures designed to dampen hydrodynamic forces. Deep-Water Mooring Solutions: Optimized station-keeping for extreme-deep water. Dynamic Subsea Cabling: Innovative power cable configurations for both in-field and export energy transmission.

Design Variations & Scalability

Y-Wind offers unmatched architectural flexibility to match your supply chain: Customizable Columns: Outboard columns can be configured with circular, hexagonal, or square cross-sections, allowing you to select fabrication yards based on their specific equipment and capabilities. The X-Wind Evolution: For extreme deep-water environments, the Y-Wind architecture can be expanded into the X-Wind—a four-column hull designed for maximum stability in the most challenging maritime conditions.
