Y-Wind Semi-Submersible Type Wind Platform
The Y-Wind Semi platform (foundation) is the most technically robust, cost-effective and adaptable floating foundation for offshore wind. Y-Wind is the result of extensive offshore engineering expertise and thorough life cycle cost analysis of the critical engineering challenges and key cost drivers of floating wind.
Design Features
•The Y-Wind semi-type floating foundation has been designed from the outset for:- Improved dynamic performance with Motion Attenuating Structure (MAS)- Lowest cost of fabrication with simple structure system- Flexibility of execution with low quayside and wet-tow draft- Support HAWT or VAWT from a small to large (10+MW) turbine- Design standards: ABS, API and other regulations•The Y-Wind patent incorporates:- Motion attenuating structures- Deep water mooring - Deep water power cable configurations for in-field and export cables
Y-Wind Variations
The outboard columns can be configured with the circular, hexagon or square cross section, to allow for a flexibility in fabrication yard selection based upon fabrication yard capability.
